SONOS AMP – THE PERFECT COMPANION
Power these discreet speakers with Sonos Amp with an impressive 125 Watts per channel. Sonos Amp utilises custom digital signal processing (DSP) for superior acoustic performance, and lets you benefit from the complete Sonos experience, including wireless control from the Sonos app and Apple AirPlay 2.
Built for ambient listening, Sonos In-Ceiling speakers by Sonance deliver unmatched sound in its category, for easy listening from anywhere in your room.
IN-CEILING SPEAKERS THAT ARE SPATIALLY AWARE – A WORLD FIRST IN ITS CATEGORY
Sonos Amp unlocks Trueplay tuning, which calibrates your in-ceiling speakers acoustically with the size and layout of your room and tweaks the EQ to ensure you’re getting the very best sound for your room.
Q. How do the in-ceiling speakers connect to the Sonos Amp?
A. The in-ceiling speakers require speaker cable (sold separately) that runs behind your walls and ceilings to connect to the binding posts on the back of the Sonos Amp.
Q. Can I use Sonos in-ceiling speakers for surround sound?
A. Yes, these ceiling speakers can be used as surround sound rears. Simply, wire them to the Sonos Amp (or alternative) and select them as surrounds in the Sonos app.
You can then use your Sonos Beam, Playbar or Playbase as your front 3 channels (3.0) and the pair of ceiling speakers for your rear 2 channels (5.0 Dolby Digital in total). Then add a Sonos Sub for 5.1.
Q. Can the in-ceiling speakers grilles be painted?
A. The grilles can be spray-painted to match the colour of your ceiling. Special spray-paint is required to not block the small holes in the ceiling speaker.
Q. How many in-ceiling speakers can be used on Sonos Amp?
A. You can install up to 6 mono ceiling speakers (3 pairs) using the Sonos Amp.
Q. Can I use any amplifier with the Sonos in-ceiling speakers?
A. Yes, they will work with any traditional amplifier. We recommend Sonos Amp however, as this will support the tuning of your speakers as well as integrate seamlessly with your wider Sonos system.
